Canva
Build one-page websites with your own custom domain using templates from Canva’s free & easy website builder. Get my VA Canva Website Template here!

 

Squarespace
Squarespace is a website design platform that’s fairly easy to use and has fresh-looking website templates. It’s perfect for anyone who wants a professional website with little hassle. It also includes hosting, so no need to purchase that separately!

 

Wix
Wix is another great way to quickly build a website if you aren’t very techy or don’t want to spend a lot of time building a site. Includes hosting.

WORDPRESS BUILDERS + THEMES

If you’re willing to get techy, a WordPress website is the best option (has the best SEO and you own your site). Below are WordPress builders & themes that I recommend.

Divi
This is the website builder that I use on my website. Divi makes it easy to create a beautiful, totally customizable website without using code.

 

Beaver Builder
This is a popular drag-and-drop builder that makes it easy to build a website yourself. It’s very similar to Divi with a bit of a learning curve but a ton of customizable options so you get exactly the website you want!

 

Elementor
This is another popular drag-and-drop website builder that makes it easy to customize your website design. It’s similar to Divi and Beaver Builder. Some people prefer Elementor because it offers a greater number of built-in modules.

WEBSITE HOSTING

If you build your website on WordPress, you’ll need hosting. This is the company I recommend.

SiteGround
If you’re building your site using WordPress, you’ll want fast, reliable hosting. SiteGround is all that plus it’s reasonably priced.

DOMAIN NAMES

Having a domain name for your website looks professional. This is the company I recommend.

NameCheap
This is my favorite place to purchase domain names for all my websites. It’s affordable, easy to use, and easy to maintain!

 

AUTOMATION

Automating your client processes is a must! (Learn the client processes you need for your business in this post.)

HoneyBook

Acuity Scheduling
Acuity makes it easy for potential clients to schedule calls with you without the frustrating back and forth emails. Just send them a link to your schedule, and they can choose a time when you’re available. You can also set up automatic reminder and follow-up emails.

 

Calendly Scheduling
Calendly is another scheduling tool similar to Acuity. It’s very popular and they have a free version!

Payhip
Payhip is great if you’re just starting out selling digital products or courses. You can also use it to sell memberships, coaching, and physical products.

Their interface is simple and easy to use. They also have some amazing features like order bumps, cross-sells, and a social media discount where shoppers can share your product on FB, and they’ll get a discount.

 

AppSumo
You can get amazing deals from AppSumo on all kinds of tools and programs to help you grow your business. Sign up for their newsletter to get deals delivered right to your inbox!

 

Amberscript
I tried a variety of Automated Speech Recognition software (ASR) and felt quite frustrated until I met Amberscript. It’s simple, affordable, and more accurate than some of the other tools.

Similar programs you might want to try: Descript, Otter.ai, and HappyScribe

 

Fathom
Fathom will record and transcribe Zoom calls, allowing you to concentrate on the conversation instead of worrying about jotting everything down. The premium version will also show timestamps in the video, give you action steps based on the conversation, and sum up the convo. (HoneyBook has a note taking feature too.)

VA Social Media Posts

Ivory Mix
Ivory Mix has beautiful stock photos at a reasonable price. The annual subscription also includes excellent workshops, Instagram captions, social media templates, and more.

SECURITY

Keeping your & your client passwords safe is a must! This is what I recommend.

LastPass
LastPass is a free app that allows you to safely gather and store passwords so your clients won’t have to worry about security or confidentiality problems. They also have a phone app to access your login information on your phone and browser extensions for your computer.

EMAIL MARKETING

If you create passive income products you’ll need an email list. Here’s who I recommend.

 

ConvertKit
This is who I use to send my emails. I prefer ConvertKit over other providers because it’s very powerful, yet easy to use. It also integrates with most other software and has excellent customer support.

 

MailerLite
If you want to start your email list for free, then MailerLite is a great option. Their free plan gives you up to 1000 subscribers and 12,000 emails each month. They also have a drag and drop editor, tons of integrations, and excellent customer support.

 

KingSumo
I use KingSumo to run my giveaways and grow my email list. They’re reliable, cheap, easy to use, and have some really great features to expand your reach to new people!

 

 

CLOTHES

Whether you work a day job or work from home, you gotta look cute!

Stitch Fix
In a clothing rut? Stitch Fix will help with that! You tell them what you like and don’t like, and they’ll find clothes that fit your style, shape, and budget. You can either have a stylist choose clothing for you (and you only pay for what you keep) or you can choose the pieces you want from their suggestions (pay upfront but super easy to return what doesn’t work for you). The quality of their clothing is one reason why I pretty much buy all my clothing from here. Try it out and get $25!
