Virtual assistant work helped me fulfill my dream of quitting my job and working from home.
I’m passionate about helping others create their own businesses and want to show you that if you take the right steps and in the right order, you can do it too!
There’s many benefits of creating a virtual assistant business. It takes only a small amount of money to get off the ground, you can find and work with clients from all over the world, and more and more online (and offline) businesses see the value in working with VA’s and are looking to hire!
Starting a business doesn’t have to be complicated or take forever to get started! Follow my 12 daily steps and you’ll have your own virtual assistant business in less than 2 weeks!
HOW TO MAKE MONEY AS A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT IN 12 DAYS OR LESS:
DAY 1 – Get clear on your WHY – Staying connected to your Why will keep you focused, centered, and help you move your business forward. Especially on those days when you lack motivation (it happens to all of us!). Read my Why and declare yours here.
DAY 2 – Decide on your niche – Your niche is basically what you specialize in. What type of VA do you want to be? Is there a specific industry you want to work in? Tapping into your skills, interests, and software knowledge can help you to figure out your niche.
DAY 3 – Figure out your ideal client -Who do you want to work with? Learn how to determine who your ideal client is.
DAY 4 – Create your service offerings – Create services that you enjoy doing and your ideal client wants. Get clear on what you want to offer.
DAY 5 – Decide on your rates – How much money do you want to charge per hour? Make sure to charge enough to cover your expenses, taxes, and health insurance. Learn 4 different ways you can price your VA services in my guest post on the Freelance to Freedom’s blog.

DAY 6 – Name your business – Brainstorm 50 names and pick one you like best. Choose one that is simple and easy to spell. Make sure it’s available on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Also make sure your domain is available (www.yourbusinessname.com).
DAY 7 – Choose a business entity and register your business – Most virtual assistant businesses in the U.S. are either a Sole Proprietorship or Limited Liability Corporation.
- Sole Proprietorship: No need to register your business, but you’ll need to register for a fictitious name. No fees and you’ll file taxes only once a year.
- LLC: Your personal assets are protected in case someone sues you, but there’s a yearly fee, you must register your biz, and you’ll pay taxes quarterly.
Day 8 – Draft your business policies – Policies help you develop harmonious working relationships with your clients. They are your business boundaries that will be communicated in your contract and/or on your sales page. What days and hours do you work? When do you invoice your clients? What does your service include and not include? My VA’s Guide to Client Contracts has an ebook to help you draft your policies.
Day 9 – Write your contract – A contract is created to protect both you and the client and helps enforce your business policies. It confirms that you’re both on the same page and gives the client an opportunity to ask questions before you start working with them. Here’s a tutorial on how to create and send your contracts.
Day 10 – Create your client processes – You’ll need four client processes: Pre-client, Intake, Service, and Post-service. Learn more about these processes here.
Day 11 – Design your client systems – What are the programs, apps and tools you want to use to streamline your client processes? My Systemize Your Biz course shows you how to set all the basic systems up (and they’re all FREE!).
Day 12 – Get clients and start MAKING MONEY! – Share your new business with everyone! Here’s how to pitch your services through email. And here are 7 tips for finding clients. Keep promoting your business to get more clients.
If you do one of the steps above each day for 12 days you can have your virtual assistant business up and running! Just go in the order they’re listed and keep going, you can do this!
If you need in-depth help with any of these steps, I cover them all (and more!) in this amazing ebook and course bundle.
